Campaigns vs automations: which one do I need?

Both send emails and texts. The difference is what starts them.

In this article you will choose the right tool for what you want to send.

Steps

  1. A campaign is sent once, by you, to a group of people at a time you choose. Use it for news: a sale, a new collection, a holiday message.
  2. An automation is sent by the app, to one person at a time, when something happens to them: they subscribe, leave a cart, place an order, or a product they wanted is back. You set it up once and it keeps running.
  3. Most stores use both: campaigns for the calendar, automations for the moments that repeat with every customer.
  4. If you are starting out, turn on the Welcome and Abandoned cart automations first, then send a campaign when you have something to say.
